Greetings,
I am so glad that you decided to search our
website today. We hope that you are having a good time.
If you don’t have a church home come and visit us
soon!
In the past few weeks we have been studying
about prayer. The word “pray,” that Jesus used
the most, refers to worship.
Why did He use this word?
Jesus was teaching us the importance of a
life of faith. We have been blessed with everything we will
ever need from God. He has provided for us salvation, healing,
deliverance and all financial and physical provision through
His Son Jesus Christ.
Before we even ask, He already knows what
we have need of and what we will ask for. Since He has provided
everything, we pray and worship Him for already taking care
of all of our needs. According Mark 11:24 Jesus taught us
to believe that we receive when we pray. If you know God
has already given it to you then it is easy to pray. This
word pray instructs us to worship Him for the answer instead
of begging Him to help.
“If God knows everything ahead of time
why bother studying God’s Word and praying!!”
To ask for something is our part! It not only
is the release of our faith but God wants us to ask for
specific needs. This is all part of the relationship that
He has built with us. It gives God the opportunity to prove
Himself to his people. He is still alive and active in the
world answering prayers and reaching out His hand of friendship
and love!
We need to know what the Bible says about
our situation in order to place ourselves in the right position
to believe and receive from God.
Therefore most prayer will be in the past
tense when it comes to your needs being met.
Here’s an example: Father I thank you
that you are a God of healing. Lord your word says in 1
Peter 2:24 that by your stripes I was healed. I believe
that you have done this through Jesus, and now I receive
my healing. The doctors might say it, my family might say
it, and my body might show signs of it, yet Lord you said
I'm healed and I believe your report. I thank you and worship
you in Jesus name! Amen!
Can you see how that prayer is in Past tense?
The prayer was as if it was already done.
Here are some scriptures that talk about what
God has already done for you (PAST TENSE)!
1 Cor 6:20 - you were bought at a price!
Eph 2:5 – He made us alive with Christ
even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by
grace you have been saved.
Col 1:13 - For he has rescued us from the
dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of
the Son he loves,
Col 6:11 - But you were washed, you were
sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Galatians 5:13 - You, my brothers, were called
to be free
Romans 6:18 - You have been set free from
sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
Col 3:1 - Since, then, you have been raised
with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ
is seated at the right hand of God.
